Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. A medical doctor who specializes in this area is known as a pediatrician or pediatrician.
To take care of your child, your pediatrician will :
Give your child vaccinations
Make sure she meets milestones in growth, behavior, and skills.
Diagnose and treat your child's illnesses, infections, injuries, and other health problems.
Give you information about your child's health, safety, nutrition, and fitness needs.
